We need to be able to trust God, and not just with little, everyday things. In Genesis 22, you see God telling Abraham to sacrifice his son, Isaac, as a a burnt offering- and even though scripture says that Abraham loved his boy, it also says that he rose early in the morning, not doubting that Isaac would be spared. Also, you can see earlier in Genesis 6, with the flood of the earth, when Noah was told to build the ark- Scholars believe that it took 120 years to construct… and that it may not have ever rained before this global flood, (as also supported by Genesis 2:5-6). When the corrupt people doubted, Noah was able to trust God.
Its pretty immense-
Can we have that trust in God? That faith?
For the big things as well as the small?
Bonus: If you have the time, take a minute and read this cool post I found from Five in Tow, intertwining the story of saving a kittens life with showing forgiveness and an underlying message of hope. I can (for better or worse) say that its probably better than anything that I will ever write.
