Background Info: Sophelia, a hair stylist from Massachusetts, makes many types of homemade products including silk hair wraps and bonnets. I asked to review a silk bonnet:
Can you see it over on the left? Yeah? Let me say this thing is awesome! Hear me out: I have pretty long hair, and hair, long hair especially, needs moisture, moisture, moisture. The problem that develops is that cotton pillow cases will soak up any moisture (conditioner, oil, etc) while we sleep.... and thats the last thing we want. But, silk doesnt do that, and these bonnets are 100% silk. Silk also doesnt pull and tangle, and while almost always sleep with my hair up, I noticed with it hanging loose that, as advertized, it didn't cause/allow for tangles. How's that for getting ready in the morning?
Even without technical difficulties, I'm not by any means a picture person ...but I think that you can see in the image how pretty this oriental material is- there are faint dragons that you can see a little, too (bottom right shows up a bit). A nice bold "Sassy" across the back, and a wide viarity of colors to choose from makes them pretty unique.
As far as size goes, these are just right- not to tight to leave a mark or fray the hairline (To wear one, simply simply gather hair, and pull over head like a headband or something of the like) not to loose to fall off in my sleep, not to small for all my hair and not to bulky to sleep on. Likewise, you might think that it would heat up during the night- not the case. Talking about "cases"- silk cases are advertised sometimes, those are one of the things you can get one from Sassy Swag, too.
I'm planning this summer of giving an update on the bonnet- it does seem made to last and also to elaborate on the moisture difference. I'm not sure how I managed without one... The Facebook page, as well as the website, shows pictures of what is all offered and I recommend that you take a look. In short, if you are interested in buying a bonnet off the website- hope you are- they are sold, one size fits all for $20 (thats a good deal, from what I've seen, btw).
