A word from Kate:
Essential oils are pretty amazing and I asked my friend M. Durham from tsu if she would submit a post on them for my blog because she knows all about them. Thankfully she agreed :)

Oh, and the Giveaway and Photo Contest are both over for now. Thanks all who entered and I will be contacting the giveaway winner, "bn100", soon.

Now for the post, finally :)
_____

Essential oils are made of aromatic liquids that come from all types of natural plants. They can be used in the following ways: topical application, aromatic diffusing, direct inhalation, and internal consumption. Although there are many brands currently on the market, I choose to use Young Living Essential Oils because of their Seed to Seal process. The Seed to Seal process ensures the standard of purity for the essential oils is set, beginning with the seeds that are planted and continuing on through the production process, through the finalized product that is sold to consumers.

Essential oils have been used since biblical times. They existed before modern medicine and pharmaceutical products were made. While modern medicine has greatly helped our society, there are still common everyday minor ailments that can help to be treated naturally with essential oils. For instance, my family uses essential oils to help treat things such as: headaches, rashes, stress, insect bites, stomach aches, burns, cuts, acne, blisters, anxiety, depression, energy, detoxifying the body, immune support, air purifying, cold sores, sore muscles, menstrual cramps, food and drink flavoring, soothing, calming, and so much more.

Before I learned about essential oils I was like many consumers and went to large retail chain stores to purchase health and medicinal products. I was purchasing products that had ingredients that I could not pronounce and that I had never even heard of before. For some reason I trusted that these products were safe for my body, just because they were available and being sold in those stores. Thankfully I came across Young Living Essential Oils, and I can never go back now! Since first coming across these essential oils, I have thrown away most all of the retail chain store health and medicinal products that I owned, and have used the essential oils to give my medicine cabinet a complete makeover. Since essential oils are fully natural products, I am confident that they are safe and I feel good about using them for myself and for my family.
