Trich is where you pull out your hair. The medical term is trichotillomania. For me it started a few years ago when I had a patch of brittle hair and they annoyed me to no end.
So I pulled them all out (and then some) because that just felt like the right thing to do.
In the moment. Especially with triggers.
Triggers like worry and low self esteem and lack of support. Circular problems, if you are following me.
Pressure is good, you know, beneficial. Like the oyster making a pearl or nature a diamond.
But I think we all need support. Or maybe better said: love.
Because without it, where would we be?
The answer: We'd be slaves of these triggers and slaves of this world.
Triggers that we might not have yet pinpointed, but ones we need help in overcoming. Because that is where healing lies.
You know, trich has "mania" in it but I don't want to be defined like that!!! I just need God and caring people to help me when I fall that is to day so I do not peruse trich but avoid- and have victory over- these triggers.
I have friends that struggle with mental disorders and this is one thing of what I have decided: They don't need belittling of *any* kind because to them, life is hard enough as it is already.
I understand (Even though not enough to give myself right to say that). I understand that most things we will try to help others in the ways they need it won't work.
Now let's thing of God for a moment:
He came to Earth, born into human flesh as Jesus. Jesus, the Bible says knows because he had every temptation, every feeling that comes to us. He understands.
Pressure for Jesus was standing against the Pharisees (remember the adulteress in John?) and any word he spoke wrong they wanted to attack him for.
They wanted to throw him under the bus and maybe stone him for good measure... but did he falter? Did he give up?
No, he had God, the Father.
I challenge you these two, scratch that, three things.
#1. Remember that God love you and if you ask him to come into your life, that you are ready to leave your disobedience to Him and accept forgiveness thru grace that He will *never* leave you. It's true!!! He understands all your pain, I promise!
#2. And that God wants to use you. He wants you to share love, just as he has shown love to us. Think of those that need it.
#3. And that God wants to use you not just today and tommorrow, but the day after that and the day after that. Stand strong to what you believe and do not waver... (refer to #1)
