One thing that Ive really wanted to look into is the deep meanings and the history behind behind some old family-favorites.
You see, every now and again, my service at church will have a "hymn sing" where people call out a number in the hymnal and the congregation will sing the first verse or so of the hymn- sometimes the last, too.
Well, thats how church started this past Sunday and you can believe me when I say that my family is quite enthusiastic about the 3 hymns of a normal service let alone having a a 15-ish minute hymn sing :).
Today, I'm going to just give you one hymn-and-its-history-explanation (the first video) and some other favorites after it in a mini- marithon, since its been months since Ive done any music at all. In 2 weeks I'll share the history and things behind them.... Makes sense?
Comment with your own favorite hymns if you like!
P.S. Oh, and *thumbs up* to Greg for making the first video with the history of "It Is Well With My Soul" and giving me permission to use it :)
