When I heard, I got caught up in thoughts like "The girl killed was too young to die." and "It could have been anyone; It could have been me."
And it got me thinking, of just how temporary each of our lives really are. James says "Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away." He compares our lives to mist, and I think thats as good of a comparison as any, dont you think?
Life, time, is so precious.
Brit, who Ive been told that Brit was a Christian girl, had no way of knowing that her life was about to end. The day of her death almost certainly began like any other.
So, how should we manage our time on Earth? Sure, much of our time is taken up with education, sleeping, and other necessities, but what about the rest?
My question to you is this: Why would we waste time, waste our life away, in front of a screen when Jesus says to seek the kingdom of God? Why do we focus on sports and shopping malls and electronics and appearance when we are to be set apart from the world? When at any moment, we might be taken from it?
