Alright so today is one of those days when I literally just dont know what to post. #needguestposts.

Below you will find a few clips from months and months ago that should be amusing enough. That is, some of these are funnier than others, but there has got to be something for you in all of this and I hope it makes your Monday a little less miserable.

Happy Monday, all.

Has it been rainy where you are? Are the leaves changing colors yet or is it cold in the mornings?

A Healthy Spiritual Meal Plan... Has No Cotton Candy #faithhacks

*this is a lot of rambling I have several points I would like to make but I dont have the time at the moment to transition smoothly so... let me know how well you can piece together the different ideas I have below:

<--- Snow can you beleive it? Not here, but on the Alaska webcam its been all blizardy for days. Brrr!

My mom has never made meal plans, but I have seen lots of articles online that suggest they are great organizational skills.

Having a meal plan: makes shopping easier, helps get nutrients and healthy meals, and can help organize things in general. Efficient, effective, easier.

Well, what do you know, the other day someone suggested to me the idea of a spiritual meal plan.

I for one am not someone who is in the Bible daily. I was drafting something the other day where I said that its so easy for me to forget to pray and so easy for me to flip a calendar more often that I open a Bible.  Its a problem :/

I think here are my main issues:

1) Other things get prioritized first. I am rushed in the morning, distracted through the day, and prefer to get a good amount of sleep at night. Really, I need to not put faith on the back burner. A great starting point would be to get rid of some of the pointless, valueless entertainment.

2) Along the same lines, my time management is pathetic. Really I would have tons of time to do things I would like to do (also writing) if I were to make time. This is sort of the same thing as above. Sometimes the meal plan is going to have to come first and our other desires second.

Tip: If it doesnt bring you closer to God, get rid of it. The sooner the better :/

3). I have this embarrassing pride that I already have a good enough familiarity with the Bible.  This is bad on so many levels. Once can always read the Bible again and again and learn more. Especially for someone like myself who isnt the best with memorization, being active in the Word of God is a great idea! Being immersed is similarly a great status.

4. The less you read, the less you feel a "hunger pang" for the good stuff. By the Good stuff, I actually mean everything in the Bible, no picking and choosing allowed. We dont always like what the Bible says but we gotta be humble enough to listen and crave to know about God. Gotta get all your nutrients, gotta "eat" healthy

5. Really I generally am too casual about the entire picture. When there is something out of my control, I am more prone to talk about it to others than to God. Our response in crisis should be to pray and listen to God talking through the Bible. Our spiritual health matters, we need to take care of it and keep up the meal plan.

A great spiritual meal plan that I have come across is a 1 year through the Bible plan. You can access it here:

We have this great fear that if we miss out on a day of such a plan that it is over, but it is not. We can pick up our Bible the next day and carry on. There is no need to wait to the next calendar year.

I have been through it once, though not in order, in 26 days by reading like 12-13 boxes a day instead of 1.

This sort of reading does not allow much room for "cotton candy" because you are too full for sugary, worthlessness. Out goes other activities, out goes other influences that are not God honoring.

Two other approaches are to read through the New Testament at least 1x per month or to hit the basics on a schedule of some sort:

Someone very bluntly said when you eat cotton candy too much:  "You get fat, lazy and your teeth rot." If youre not in control of what you are being fed spiritually or physically there is a lot of damage (no pun intended) that can be done.

Yet in the moment, it is convenient, and easy going down. There we find the trap of comfort... if you have read the title (hope so!) of this post, you will know that such is not on a healthy meal plan.

The last thing I have for this post is the simple, yet deep, question I came across with a few weeks ago now and which you might say I fell in love with: Are we full of ourselves or full of God?

Title: Chivalrous
Author:  Dina Sleiman
Book #: 2
Series name: Valiant Hearts
Setting: medieval Europe during the 1200's
Publication date: Sept 8, 2015
Pages: 386
Cost: $13 for Paperback, $9 for Kindle
Rating: 3.25 (Fair but nothing spectacular)

I received a free ebook copy from the publisher in exchange for this review. (Net Galley and Baker Publishing Group)

Synopsis:
Strong and adventurous Gwendolyn Barnes longs to be a knight like her chivalrous brothers. However, that is not an option for her, not even in the Arthurian-inspired Eden where she dwells. Her parents view her only as a marriage pawn, and her domineering father is determined to see her wed to a brutish man who will break her spirit.

When handsome, good-hearted Allen of Ellsworth arrives in Edendale searching for his place in the world, Gwendolyn spies in him the sort of fellow she could imagine marrying. Yet fate seems determined to keep them apart. Tournaments, intrigue, and battles--along with twists and turns aplenty--await these two as they struggle to find love, identity, and their true destinies.

Opinions:

Alright. So I read this book earlier today in a computer program that wont let me use the right key to read at a normal pace. Instead I have to move the mouse to go on to the next page and its harder to get into the story that way :/ I am leaving feeling that its a 3 (for fair but not spectacular) and practically I know that part of the reason I feel that way is just the format I got the book....

However, this book was still pretty good. I am drafting this about 75% of the way through and while there has been nothing surprising or intensely interesting, the book is written well with an intriguing story line. It is easy to follow and I'm not getting characters confused or anything that would make the experience worse.

I think it would be improved if there was more dramatic conflicts, only now am I getting to a place where if they dont act within hours there will be a huge dilemma. :)

Also it is awkward to read about "seed" and at one point there may be an abortion and I dont particularly like that the girl (age 16) has no male leadership/mentor/good father as she has to deal with all these mature things at this critical step in her life.... To go into detail more on these would give away half the plot though.

Although the male MC (Main Character) has issues deciding his feelings for his past fiance, Gwen, and some widow its convienient for him to hook up with, he is always a good guy. I really respect that, and that the good guys are moral and the bad guys are not sugar coated. We cant be saying abuse isnt a big deal, now can we?

All in all, this book is good for people into romance, although probably 15+, and those that want to know what the Bible says about divorce, women's roles, etc. along the way.

What To Expect When Your Sharpie Mugs Bake (link-up)

Last winter I posted two posts about sharpie mugs on my blog. Thefirst one (here) introduced what to do and the second (linked here) talked about what happened to my mugs.

Something that I was really surprised by was how much the mugs changed colors. Therefore when I was asked to do a guest post with a friend, I decided to create another mug and share what you should expect if you try the pin yourself.

^ This is the same post I used in my guest post, and you can send any comments you have to the original: http://imdoingteenagingwrong.blogspot.com/2015/08/a-guest-post.html

^^^ Above you can see a bit of how the colors changed. ^^^

The "Before" images show much bolder colors and vivid colors. The navy blue entirely turned gray, the light green turned a bit more darker green/gray, the darker green turned a bit blue, and the yellow looks peach now .

The black, fuchsia, and red are colors that stayed pretty much the same after being baked in the oven.

(If you want more info on how I baked them, check out the links above where I share what to do!)

Something else that I did with these was to create dots. Its optional of course and I havent ever seen it before, it just seemed like something fun to try.... I wasnt sure how it would turn out but I think I like it :)

After I washed the mugs, I put a dots of tacky glue on the mug and let them dry overnight. Then I sharpied over everything and pealed off the glue carefully. This left the dots where the glue dots had been.

Finally in this image I go thru clockwise through a bunch of pictures according to where the handle was in the image.

Theyre not all uniformly lighted and such but I think its a cool collage. What do you think?

Would you try out Sharpie Mugs? What would create or write?
