Growing In Grace: 16 minutes of the Mullet Family

Earlier this year, I'd watched these videos, listening to both the music and stories, when I was looking into reviewing another family-team's music in their organization (That post is here.)

More recently, I thought of them again, because with the school year getting into full spring for so many, I thought that they applied.

Together,
these videos really reminded me of God's huge love compared to our small existence, but yet the large impact we can have for him.... even when things do not go as we plan them to.

They overwhelmed me a little...but in a good way. :)

The fall and school year especially can be super chaotic and hectic, so while click to play over 16 minutes of encouragement.

Click Read in Browser to see them if they dont want to play/appear in your email.

Wanted: Guest Bloggers (w/ Linky)

Maybe you are a blogger who wants to get more traffic or maybe you want a blog but you dont know if you will have the time for one. Maybe you just want to be published.

If so, this is your chance because starting here and now, I'm looking for people like you. The Guidelines:

What I'm looking for is original posts that are going to fit in. I dont want really long stuff, so I'm going to go with asking for about 175-250 words with a bunch of pictures or videos, and about 325-375 with none. Give or take some, of course... I make exceptions for myself all the time :)

On the right you’ll see the basics to my schedule and further down a bit more detail in the categories. (Note that I don’t have any up yet but DIY's, recipes, sewing projects and other crafts are also welcome because once my hems look straight enough, I want to add mine too. Just send the instructions, recipe, fabric type used, etc (accordingly) and some pics and we'll be good to go.

What I’m getting at is that you get to pick the topic. When in doubt about the type of content, simply scroll thru a few pages or posts on my blog and just go with the flow of the content you see already posted, making posts that will fit the audience in title, body/content, length, etc.

That said feel free to do a part 2 or 3 to something I've already done or ask to do a co-giveaway of some sort. Write one post, two, even one each month or two- Its up to you.

Right now I'm giving away 2 free weeks of ad space for any one that submits a guest post. I have info here: http://majesticgoldenrose.weebly.com/blog/wanted-guest-bloggers-w-linky

Some other information that I can throw out there: Anything you send me I'll add to linkies with my own blog posts and if you want to add an excerpt on your side with a read-more-over-here link, go for it. Please try to respond to reader comments to your posts.

Lastly, I read online that almost only 1 in 10 posts meets the cut when guest blogging, so while I'm hoping together we can set the record (for the better, haha) don't get your feelings down if you don't see yours up right away, because I might have something else in mind. Same goes that I will do a brief editorial review of posts that I accept to correct grammar.

So what now?

I’m asking anyone and everyone interested to sign up with tsu. You'll be signing up as a new user, and we'll be able to message directly and I can easily mention you and your posts to my entire audience. (Signing up, which should take seconds, allows me to give reminders every couple weeks and such, but I wont bug you, promise.

To sign up for tsu, click here and follow the instructions: https://www.tsu.co/majesticgoldenrose

To submit a post, use this form:  http://fluidsurveys.com/surveys/majesticgoldenrose/majesticgoldenrose-guest-bloggers/

Be sure to let me know how you want your name to appear and include a link to your site, if applicable. I ask that any images be sent in the image section as url's, with a jpg ending. I use imgur to upload, but if its already on the 'net thats even better, right?  To make it easier, I’ll handle the image that stays in the top left of a post.

I know that this is a lot, but I really do want to make this the most pleasant, simple experience possible. Still have questions? Comment!

Growing In Grace: Y'all Amish?

A couple weeks back, we were driving thru Virginia and had stopped at a gas station to fill our close-to-empty tank thankful that the price at that particular station was $3.07 and not $3.56 like the stations back home. (Yea!)

But we had stepped inside to look around at what they were selling and one of the workers of the gas station walks up excitedly to ask "Y'all Amish?"

"No" we said. "We are not Amish. Why do you ask?"

And she said something like "Oh, well, there is something different about y'all, lookin' more or less like the Amish I see on TV and all"

And we stuttered for a reply, even though, for me, I know its not the first time Ive ever been labeled that way.  In fact, we've been asked almost a handful of times this week alone.
And for that reason how silly that our answer had a rough takeoff!

In fact, the first thing that came to my mind was the verse 1 Peter 3:15, which although I didnt remember word for word at the time says of how
we are to be "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason..."

The reason we have hope.

The reason why we are set apart from the world as we mature as Christians.

The reason why, as we grow more and more in our relationship with God, that we should shine like light in the darkness.

As we went on to witness and tell this woman the Jesus we live for, this video came to mind and I want to encourage you to watch it (as long as it is) because in a similar encounter you will very likely find its tips useful in sharing the gospel.
