How it works is that someone can offer a room in their home, say their kids have moved out, and if you are in town you can book it for a few nights.
There are options all over the place and you can sort them according to your needs.
Want a whole house? They have them. Want just a room and wifi? They have that too.
But I created this post because of something even cooler: There also is a section of hosts who will offering rooms in their homes to stay at for *free* in approved areas where there has been a natural disaster.
Personally I dont have any relatives in my area so if something unexpectedly happened to my house my family wouldnt really have anywhere to go.
And, I also want to say that I think we need more "super nice" out there, such as opening our hearts and homes to others.
I think that community is a really important thing and that any sort of welcoming others into our homes is a great idea. My family doesnt have any extra rooms to let others stay in but it makes me want to think of other ways that we can be inviting to others, both those I interact with all the time and others that I might only meet once.
Would you host people in your home for a night?
How often do you have your neighbors over for dinner?
